Why You Need the Appropriate Cooking Equipment

Having the right cooking equipment in your Little Rock restaurant can help make your kitchen more efficient which means you can turn out higher-quality food. One example of how the right cooking equipment can help is in turnaround. Your customers come into your restaurant hungry and ready to eat. While no one expects it to be fast food, the longer you keep them waiting, the less likely they are to return and the more likely they are to tell their friends “the food was good, but we had to wait forever to get it!”

The difference between a 15-minute wait and a 20-minute wait can make or break a restaurant. The right cooking equipment can help you speed up your line and streamline the process of getting food to your tables as quickly as possible.

The Right Tools Make Everything Easier

You all know the sayings “the right tool for the right job” and “you’re only as good as your tools.” this couldn’t be truer when it comes to the world of restaurants. You may be a killer sous chef, but how effective can you be with a set of dull knives or an oven with uneven heating? Sure, it’s possible to turn out amazing food in ordinary kitchens – but it’s also markedly more difficult. The easier your job is made, the less you have to think about mundane things like crappy fryers, broken vent hoods, and uneven stovetops the more time you have to focus on your craft.

Buying the right equipment is an investment, we get that. But it’s an investment in your business that will markedly improve your performance and the quality of your food – is that an opportunity you can afford to not take? Here at Tipton, we’ll work with you to find something in your budget – we even have a gently used and refurbished selection that might help you get that warming cabinet for much less than you think.

Tips for Cleaning Your Commercial Cooking Equipment

Once you’ve decided to make the investment in good cooking equipment, it’s important that you clean and maintain it regularly! If you don’t take care of your equipment, you may be facing some costly repairs – that’s no fun for us or for you. Let’s take a look at some tips for keeping your cooking equipment like new.

Always Read the Manual

This sounds like basic common sense, but for heaven’s sake read the owner’s manual for your cooking equipment. It doesn’t sound like an exciting read but it’s full of tips and tricks that you probably didn’t know. Even if you’ve owned a similar model before, new editions and versions of the product can have tiny differences that make a difference in how you use and care for them.

And don’t forget about us! If you buy equipment from Tipton, we also install and service that product post-sale! If you ever have any questions or problems with our cooking equipment in Little Rock, contact us and we’ll do our best to help you solve it. We’re also up to date on all the recalls, quirks and tricks that go with the equipment we sell because we spend so much time with it! Not many suppliers can say the same.

Clean Up Spills

As soon as you see a spill, clean it up – just like your mother taught you. Acting fast prevents the spill from baking onto your equipment or permanently staining it if you spill something corrosive or acidic. If you spill in an oven, that can also affect cooking temperatures and mess with your food.

Cleaning the Interior

Every day, take a few moments to wipe down the interior of your fryer, oven, fridge, or grill. You’re generally safe using a mild detergent soap, but check the owner’s manual (see Tip #1) first to make sure that it won’t react badly with the surface of your equipment.

Cleaning the Exterior

You’ll want to clean the exterior of your equipment at least once a week. Mild soap and a soft-bristle brush work best on stainless steel. Wiping everything down and cleaning off the exterior keeps old spills from contaminating new food and keeps your equipment from becoming grimy and stained.

Deep Cleaning

You’ll want to perform a deep cleaning of your cooking equipment monthly. That means something different for each appliance, but it’s a good rule of thumb to soak it, scrub it with soap and a surface appropriate cleaning tool, dry it off and polish it. This doesn’t just make it look nice (although it is supremely satisfying to cook in a spotless kitchen), it also keeps your cooking equipment from succumbing to wear and tear and prevents rusting.

If you’re in need of professional cooking equipment in Little Rock, you can visit or convenient Conway location or call us – or just contact us through the site! We’ll get back to you quickly and help you find whatever cooking equipment you need for your kitchen.
