Repurposing Old Restaurant Supplies

November 13, 2017

Are you looking for ways to repurpose your old restaurant equipment and supplies? Well we have 4 DIY projects to give your old restaurant supplies new life.

Your New Spice Rack

For this you’ll need an old pizza pan or baking pan, double-sided magnets, shakers, and spices. Tired of pushing spices out of the way to still not find the garlic salt? This could fix that problem for you! Hang your pan up using nails or command hooks on your kitchen wall, preferably closest to your stove. With your shakers in hand, attached the double-sided magnets to the bottom and voila, now you have an easy access spice rack. Fill them with spices, toppings, or any other restaurant supplies.

Thank You Mason, For Your Jars

Mason jars are so popular for crafts, and the possibilities are endless. Mason jars can be found where all restaurant supplies are sold. Need quick lighting for a party with an intimate setting? Throw some single-use candles in your mason jars and automatically set the tone. Want a more modern look? String lights attached to a battery pack! Turn them on, close the lid, and get your instagram posts ready!

Want to add a little more personality to your kitchen? Paint your mason jars your favorite matte color, and use a sealant to make sure the paint is protected. Now you have a perfect place to put utensils or other restaurant supplies in.

Fork It Over

Do you have way too many metal forks and spoons? Depending on the quality of the metal they are made out of are incredibly malleable, which means you can bend and not break them! But you can get real creative when you can cut them into parts. Projects that involve cutting the metal can be tricky without the right tools. You will want a dremel that can cut at high speeds. Make sure you wear proper eye protection and gloves while working with power tools. You can make various jewelry, from rings, necklaces, and pendants using these restaurant supplies.

Try making a hook shape out of metal forks, and drilling it on a wooden board. As easy as that you have a rustic, durable key holder.

Grow A Friend

Plants can add a sense of freshness to room, and can give you a sense of responsibility. Old pots can make a perfect planter for indoor or outdoor use! Simply pour soil in the pots before you plant your next green friend. Because pots come in different shapes and sizes, it provides a variety  of decorations for your garden.

We hope this helps you pick out a quick weekend project using easily accessible restaurant supplies! We encourage you to get creative, take charge, and we would love to see what you made. Let us know on our Facebook page, or come on in and show it to us!
